| An X-ray primarily visualizes the bony structures of the body. Doctors typically prescribe X-rays when looking for fractures, or any other bony pathology. MRI films visualize both bone and soft tissue and are typically the best diagnostic tool when doctors suspect soft tissue pathology such as a herniated disc, ligament and tendon tears, or organ pathology. |
