Who pays for my medical care?
In the State of Florida, $10,000 of medical coverage is included with your auto insurance policy. No matter who caused the accident, the first $10,000 of medical care including doctor's visits, therapy, and diagnostic procedures are covered by your own auto insurance at 80%. Depending upon your insurance policy, you may be covered at 100% or a deductible may apply.

Can I choose my own doctor?
After an auto accident, you may seek treatment from the licensed doctor or chiropractor of your choice. Your auto insurance will pay for medical bills no matter who you choose to see. Your insurance company will not refer you to any medical facility, so you can choose anyone you wish.

Is massage therapy covered?
Yes. Massage therapy is covered by your auto insurance company. Massage therapy is provided in many physician’s offices as a standard treatment for back and neck pain. Massage therapy helps to relieve muscle spasm, tenderness, and pain as a result of injury sustained in an auto accident.

Should I go to the emergency room?
For life threatening injuries or intense physical distress, you should always
call 911 and be transferred to a hospital by ambulance. However, if your
injuries are minor, a walk-in clinic, chiropractor, or family physician are best
utilized. Most physicians offer x-ray and other diagnostic procedures and will
be able to assess mild to moderate neck pain, back pain, headaches, etc.

Can I see a specialist immediately?

neurologist. These doctors are well trained to diagnose and treat headaches,
back, neck, and all other pain and problems you may be experiencing.

I have a prescription for medication. Will the pharmacy bill my insurance company?
Most pharmacies do not bill auto insurance companies for
medication. You will need to pay for the medication first and then be reimbursed by your auto insurance company after you submit the receipts. If you are unable to afford the medication, your insurance adjuster may make arrangements to pay for the medication directly.
